Art in Y6
We have been studying the work of the artist, Edward Hopper.
We recreated his artwork today using oil pastels. We had to draw the lines very carefully to achieve perspective.

Today was the first of three training sessions before the competition next month. The children progressed from simple racket skills to playing a games using 3/4 of the court.

Science Week 11th – 15th March
Dear Parents,
It is Science Week from 11th to 15th March. If you use science/technology in your job and would be prepared to do a short session with our class, or classes in school, please let us know!
This could cover so many areas in science and technology — anything health related, academic, builders, architects, plumbers and electricians, engineers, IT, catering, design and production, agriculture, horticulture — the list is endless.
Art in Y6
We are studying the artist, Edward Hopper. Today, we used our drawing skills to recreate two of his most famous pieces of artwork, Nighthawks and Early Sunday Morning.
Maths – triangles and quadrilaterals
We used geoboards to make different types of triangles and quadrilaterals. We explored different statements about shapes such as ‘kites have right angles’ and concluded whether they were always true, some times true or never true.
RE – Unity
To start our new RE topic, the children worked in groups to produce a ‘freeze frame’ of a situation which shows a friendship being nourished and growing in a positive way.
The groups showed acts of kindness, inclusion and caring.
National Storytelling Week
To celebrate National Storytelling Week, we read stories to the children in Y2.
