We have had Pippa from the British Red Cross visit us for the last three Monday afternoons to help us learn more about migrants, migrant workers, refugees and asylum seekers. We have learnt all about pull and push factors that make people want to move somewhere else.
On Monday, the children were asked to find out which of their shoes had the best grip. They had to collect the data which showed how many Newtons it had taken to move their shoes three times and then find the mean. Once they had done this, they needed to write a conclusion which explained the story their data showed. I was very impressed with the quality of work produced. Well done Y6!
We finished our day with a lovely collective worship led by Sophia, Emily and Eliza. Using the Gospel about Jesus walking on water, they helped us reflect on our worries and realise that God is always with us. We wrote our worries on paper and then put them in water where they would dissolve.
Our Y6 class have started their last year at St Wilfrid’s very well . It was great to see their enthusiasm and positive attitudes to school. We are sure they will be a real credit to the school.
