We have been creating strong balances against and on different apparatus. The children then worked in pairs; one holding a balanced position, while the other travels over or under.

Y6 Science – separating materials
Today, we investigated how to use different processes to separate different materials.
To separate salt and water, we used evaporation.
To separate sand and water, we used filtration.
To separate paper clips and rice, we chose magnetic attraction.
To separate raisins and flour, we used sieving.
