Static Electricity!

This afternoon, we explored static electricity.

Some children rubbed the balloons on their heads and made their hair stand on end! The hairs were repelling each other because they had become positively charged. The negative charge had gone into the balloon.

Once the balloons were negatively charged, we managed to get them to stick to the wall.

Ask the children how we did it.

Fantastic Forces Work

Last week, Y6 explored different simple machines that used gears, levers and pulleys. Here is some of the work they produced afterwards. We could have put any child’s up as they were all wonderful: well used vocabulary, scientifically accurate and beautifully presented.
