Our Visit To Shepherd Wheel

We all had a great day at the Shepherd Wheel. After lunch in Endcliffe Park, we made our way to Bingham Park. Keith and Stuart showed us how the water wheel works and they explained what life would have been like for grinders over 100 years ago. Men and boys (from the age of 8) worked in dangerous conditions and often died by the age of 35. Ask your child how dust and metal would have been removed from eyes!

We found out why people settled in Sheffield and the importance of the rivers in the development of the steel city.

We walked for over 6 miles yesterday! It was worth it!
